Our new Single Side Laser People Counter enables you to count pedestrians and other moving objects via a user-defined counting distance (0.2 to 8 metres) without requiring a separate receiver or reflector. This makes it ideal for use in a wide range of applications including measuring pedestrian traffic on outdoor footpaths, visitor traffic for shopping centre kiosks, objects on a production line and more.
The count data is transmitted every minute to our SNG Hub (Ethernet or 3G) unit that can be located anywhere within a 30 metre range (Repeater available to extend the range by another 30 metres). The SNG Hub stores the count data and forwards it as data packets at regular intervals to the 'IMMOTION™' reporting application hosted on-site or in the cloud.
Our 'IMMOTION™' software allows users to analyze the data by hour, day, week, month, and year in table or graph form. This valuable information reveals peak traffic periods to determine optimal operating hours, staffing requirements, calculate customer/sales conversion ratios and analyse production targets.
The 'IMMOTION™' software/database is optimized to handle multiple locations and/or people counters for easy viewing and overall analysis. The 'IMMOTION™' software/database is scalable so that additional SNG Hub's and/or door counters can be added at any time.

Single Side Laser Sensor
Single Side Laser Sensor
The Single Side Laser People Counter consists of a single laser sensor that doesn't require a separate receiver or reflector. It can be configured to count pedestrians or moving objects via a user-defined counting distance of 0.2 to 8 metres. It can count objects in the foreground (e.g. pedestrians on the footpath) whilst ignoring objects in the background (e.g. cars on the road.). Each time a person walks breaks the laser beam, the count increases by one (regardless of direction).
With IP65 rated casing, the Single Side Sensors can be mounted on a building exterior, with connectivity for power and data via a 2 metre cable to the Contact Sensor component located within the building interior.
Contact Sensor
Contact Sensor
The supplied Contact Sensor powers the Single Side Laser Sensor via a 2 metre cable, receives the count data from the Single Side Laser Sensor and wirelessly forwards the data to the SNG Hub.
The Contact Sensor can power and connect to two separate Single Side Laser Sensors via separate cables.
SNG Hub (Sensor Network Gateway)
SNG Hub (Sensor Network Gateway)
The SNG Hub wirelessly communicates with the people counting sensors to receive the latest, up to date, count data from one or more sensors within a 30 metre radius. Once received, the count data is automatically sent at regular intervals to the IMMOTION™ software where the count data can be viewed/exported by hour/day/week/month year totals. Each SNG Hub has the ability to collect the counting data from up to 10 counters.
The SNG Hub is available in two editions:
Ethernet (SNG10E) Edition
The Ethernet edition (SNG10E) is designed to connect directly into your local network via an Ethernet cable. The SNG10E is ideal for situations where there are Ethernet ports available within a 30 metre range of the entrance where the doorway sensors are installed. This device is able to collect count data from up to 10 door counters/entrances within a 30 metre radius.
3G (SNG3G) Edition
The 3G Edition (SNG3G) utilises a cellular 3G connection to communicate through to the IMMOTION™ software. The SNG3G is ideal for situations where there is no Ethernet ports available near the people counting sensors. This device is able to collect count data from up to 10 door counters/entrances within a 30 metre radius. The SNG3G requires a full size 3G SIM (not included) and has been tested with the Telstra 3G Mobile Data SIM - please contact us if you would like us to test with an alternative Australian 3G carrier.
IMMOTION™ Software
IMMOTION™ Software
Our IMMOTION™ software allows users to analyse count data by hour, day, week, month, and year in table or graph form. This valuable information reveals peak traffic periods to determine optimal operating hours, staffing requirements, calculate customer/sales conversion ratios and analyse production targets.
The IMMOTION™ software/database is optimised to handle multiple locations and/or people counters for easy viewing and overall analysis. The IMMOTION™ software/database is scalable so that additional SNG Hub's and/or door counters can be added at any time.
Optional Extras:
Wireless Range Extender
Range Extender for Single Side Laser/Contact Sensor
The Range Extender increases the Wireless Range between the Single Side Laser/Contact Sensor and the SNG Hub.
With the Single Side Laser People Counter solution the SNG Hub captures the counting data from one or multiple counters and uploads it to a local or remote server every minute. This requires the SNG Hub to be located anywhere within a range of up to 30 metres (unobstructed) from the Single Side Laser/Contact Sensor. Implementing the Range Extender effectively increases the range between the SNG Hub and a Single Side Laser/Contact Sensor by up to a further 30 metre range.
The Range Extender has been designed for ease of installation: when a SNG Hub is found the LEDs display the signal strength of the detected device. We recommend the Range Extender is installed in a high position to improve the wireless signal via line of sight.
