EvolvePlus offers an extensive range of infrared-based people traffic counting solutions that deliver unparalleled accuracy and reliability. Our people counting solutions solve various traffic monitoring challenges for all environments, including office buildings, public toilets, retail stores, libraries, galleries, footpaths and leisure centres.
The Overhead Infrared People Counter provides highly accurate people flow traffic data in buildings, meeting rooms and toilets that have a single door access.
The overhead sensor uses active infrared technology that is installed above an entrance. It provides separate counts for both 'In' and 'Out' directions (without counting swinging doors) and is transferred regularly to the EvolvePlus Dashboard via the LoRaWAN gateway.
The cloud-delivered EvolvePlus Dashboard allows users to measure utilisation across selected times and dates, as well as optimise room allocation.

The Overhead Infrared Wireless People Counter provides highly accurate people flow traffic data in buildings, meeting rooms and toilets that have single door entrances. Suitable for ceiling heights up to 3 metres, the sensor unit installation is simple, cost-effective and efficient.
The Overhead People Counter is configured and calibrated ready for Plug-and-Play installation when connected by a qualified installer and has a maximum detection range of 200cm. Advanced algorithms detect the direction the person is walking and captures separate counts of people entering and exiting the doorway.
The green detection area can be configured using the NFC app for Android. By default the lines are set as follows:
- red line @ 15 cm
- green line @ 150cm
Wireless LoRaWAN Gateway (with Ethernet, Wifi and Optional 4G)
The LoRaWAN Gateway connects wirelessly to multiple sensors using the long-range LoRaWAN AS923 protocol within 100 to 250 metres (depending on model and antenna) to receive the live count data.
The data is automatically forwarded at regular intervals to the cloud-delivered EvolvePlus Dashboard via the LoRaWAN network provider (e.g. The Thing Network) or to your organisation's existing LoRaWAN IoT platform.
The LoRaWAN Gateway will also connect wirelessly to other EvolvePlus IoT sensors, including air quality sensors and smiley feedback counters.
EvolvePlus Cloud Dashboard
The cloud-delivered EvolvePlus Dashboard allows users to analyse data in both Chart and Report formats by hour, day, week, month.
This valuable information reveals peak traffic periods to determine optimal operating hours and staffing requirements, as well as assisting with calculating peak visitor times and measuring usage. It is optimised to handle multiple locations and is scalable so that additional sensors can be added at any time.
Also available is the Occupancy / People Inside web app which calculates the current occupancy and displays the live count of the number of people in the room.
